2021 - 2022 Oakland Eagle Boosters Board Members
Kelly Soder is born & raised Lake Countian. Her and her husband, Ted, moved to Lindenhurst in 2006.
She has been volunteering in the district since her daughter, Lilly (5th grade fall 2021), was in Pre-K at
Hillcrest. Her son Teddy (2nd grade fall 2021) joined the Oakland family in 2019 after starting at Hillcrest when he was only a few months old.
You’ve probably seen Kelly at some fundraising or school event around the Booster table looking to offer
information or sign you up with the Booster’s! Behind the scenes she attends the monthly meetings and
often helps plan, organize and help prepare some part of our events; including Staff Appreciation
Committee (2021), Truck or Treat, Movie Night and Giving Back. Her favorite (& she thinks most
profitable for her) event was organizing and running the bake sale at the 2019 Craft & Vendor Fair.
“In the past years being in the classroom from time to time, I’ve seen how hard the teachers work to grow our children and help them learn. I try to listen to them to understand what is important, realizing that support of staff only makes daily school life for my child that much better. I hope next year to be able to continue, working through any precautions set to protect the staff and students, to show the staff how much we appreciate everything they do. One goal for next year is to implement new ideas for
fundraising. I’d like everyone to have as much fun as I have had being involved with the Boosters over the past few years.”
Katie Klüg is a transplant from Minnesota and a work-from-home mom to Emmett (4th grade), Lainey (Kindergarten in the fall), and, future Eagle, Sarah (3yo). She loves to entertain and be with people. Supporting her community and the area’s educators is always top of mind.
“I highly value and respect our educators and school system. Where would any of us be without educators? I want to support them and my community to the best of my ability. What better way to do that than to get involved with the Boosters?
My goals as Secretary are to (1) COMMUNICATE! I want every Oakland student, parent, staff, teacher, and administrator to know what we are doing and will be doing; to know how we are supporting and appreciating all of them. (2) WELCOME AND ENCOURAGE OUR COMMUNITY to be more involved. I want everyone to have a part in this awesome organization that is here to build the kind of school community where teachers and students can do their best work. (3) BRING THE FUN to our school community with events that bring us together and make Oakland a better place.”
